Creating spaces for women's empowerment and the education of youth are key for WIPHOLD's Louisa Mojela
Updated | By Tando Ntunja
Louisa Mojela of WIPHOLD (Women Investment Portfolio Holdings) is in the business of creating opportunities for women to thrive economically. Learn what the Group CEO of what was South Africa's first women's group to be listed on the JSE makes of the social significance of The CEO SleepOut™.
As a Founder and Group CEO of WIPHOLD, Louisa Mojela is passionate about the cause that The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ represents: “I’m back in supporting The (CEO) SleepOut™ because I sincerely believe this is a good initiative to participate in. I also believe it brings me closer to understanding the reality and the plight of these homeless children. Sleeping out in the street and in a box is one thing we need to do to understand that we have good homes to travel to in the night when other children and other people sleep out in the streets.”
Louisa's emphasis on education is unparalleled: “Every country, for it to develop, it needs an educated society, so it is absolutely important that the children of this country are not only educated, but properly educated.”
Louisa is a founder and Group CEO of WIPHOLD.
She has held positions at Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank and The Development Bank of Southern Africa (during which time she was seconded to the World Bank in Washington DC), and the Lesotho National Development Corporation.
Louisa graduated with Bachelor of Commerce from the National University of Lesotho. She has also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
