Five things you must do in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is filled with some of the world's most impressive theme parks, water parks and shopping malls that will have you begging for more. 

I took a trip to the city in the desert to explore what everyone has been raving about. 

Abu Dhabi brings the heat! 

If there is one thing everyone knows by now is that the Middle East is hot, and I mean, very hot! Daily temperatures ranging between 38 and up to 45 degrees really takes its toll on you. However, there's nothing that you can do other than accept it and have a great time. This is exactly what I did. Let's just say that a hat and sunblock will become your best friend. Oh, and let's not forget water!

I wanted to share with you as to why Abu Dhabi should be on your dream travel list and mention a few places you have to visit.

Accommodation:

Throughout my stay, I decided to visit the Southern Sun Abu Dhabi. What I can tell you, is that I totally made the right choice. The hotel is filled with gorgeous decor, the friendliest of staff and rooms that will probably have you not wanting to leave. Well, that is if you have a thing for soft sheets, comfortable cushions, bedside treats everyday and a shower that is so soft, it will feel like rain on a hot Summer's day. 

A Grand attraction:

If you are into cultural history and unimaginable beauty, the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque is a must see! The Mosque is regarded as the key site for worship and for all the right reasons. It is breathtakingly spectacular! Filled with marble stone, crystals and gold, yes, real gold, the Mosque is one of the country's biggest attractions. 

Food, glorious food!

If youre a big fan of food like me, Abu Dhabi will definitely not disappoint you. Without a doubt, there are two places you need to visit when looking for something to eat. One of these places is Rogo's - known as the 'roller coaster' restaurant. Sounds weird, right? Well, it is exactly that, your food arrives to your table in the form of a roller coaster.

Impressive, right? This restaurant is so much fun! As for the food, the food is good! Big portions is what you can expect and trust me on this, order any of the burgers. You will not be disappointed. 

Another restaurant I highly suggest you visit is The Cheesecake Factory. With a wide variety on their menu and American-style portions, this sit down meal will definitely hit the sweet spot. Let's not forget the cheesecake. I mean, it's not called The Cheesecake Factory for nothing. Whatever you do, as much as you may want to order, please do yourself a favour and order the Oreo cheesecake. Trust me on this one. 

Yas Island is the place of dreams!

Every city has its main attraction, and Yas Island is everything you expect it to be and more! Home to the world's largest indoor theme park and one of the wildest water parks, Yas Island will have you never wanting to leave.

Ferrari World:

Out of all the places in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World is probably the biggest attraction. Known as the world's largest indoor theme park, the park is every speed fanatics dream destination. When I say it has everything Ferrari you need, I mean it has everything - even the world's fastest roller coaster. The Formula Rossa will have you screaming with excitement, pulling away at a speed of 240 km/h, this ride will shatter all your expectations. It is AWESOME! 

If that's not enough, how about trying 'Flying Aces'? This coaster is high, and I mean very high! Take a look:

Wet and wild at Yas Waterworld:

Another feature on Yas Island, is Yas Waterworld. The park offers some of the biggest and most thrilling water slides I have ever encountered. This is a must when visiting Yas Island. The park is designed with some of the biggest and longest slides that will have you screaming with excitement. Who wouldn't want to spend a day in the hot Abu Dhabi sun, while enjoying fancy water slides?
