Mega8 hosts their first tournament with prize money of R50 000

Mega 8 is excited to announce their very first tournament, the Mega8 Dota 2 Summer Invitational.
Mega8 was born with gamers in mind.
They are a passionate organisation, which was launched to grow and legitimise the eSports industry in South Africa. Mega8 gives current and future gamers of all skill levels the opportunity to win ample prize money on a regular basis by hosting regular tournaments.
With direct links with large media and broadcasting corporations, we intend to grow the local audience and turn our gamers into sports icons. Our company policy is simply that gamers come first.
Starting from the beginning of 2017, Mega8 will be launching a platform which will host leagues and tournaments for the public. Mega8will be hosting four ten team leagues and a ladder league for both CS:GO and Dota 2. Each league will offer prize money from the first division all the way through to the ladder division.
Mega 8 is excited to announce their very first tournament, the Mega8 Dota 2 Summer Invitational.
The top eight Dota 2 teams in the country have been invited to battle it out for a share in our R50 000 prize pool. All the games will be broadcast with professional casters accompanied by an expert panel to analyse every play.
There will be various guest appearances on the panel throughout the event.
The tournament broadcast will go live from our studio in Cape Town at 19:00 on Friday 2 December.
