Spring Walk Routes and important information

The following routes will be used for the various events during the 2013 Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk:

Families are encouraged to bring their pets along, and park-‘n-ride and braai facilities will also be available on the day. Walkers may choose from various distances with the 20KM and 15KM routes starting at 7AM, while the 8KM walk starts at 8AM and the 5KM kicks off at 9AM.
All walk distances will cost R110 for adults and R60 for juniors and those who have not yet entered online may still enter at the Pretoria Rugby Club during registration on 20, 21 and 23 September between 9AM and 7PM.
Totius Street will be totally closed from the start to the finish of the race, and there will be limited traffic control during the walk from Queen Wilhelmina Street to Toitius Street and George Storrar Drive.
Families are also encouraged to bring dogs along – small to medium dogs must be older than 12 months and younger than 10 years. Large to dogs must be older than 18 months and younger than 7 years. All dogs must be medically fit to walk and be walked on a lead. Dogs must be socialised, able to handle the stress of large crowds, other dogs and strange noises. Dogs are only permitted in the 5km and 8km walk and entry for dogs is FREE.
There will be a park and ride service at each of the following points:
• Loftus tennis courts
• Menlyn Park shopping centre
• Royal Elephant hotel in centurion
All park and ride services will cost R40. Participants using the park and ride service will be required to cover this cost. For booking information and maps please visit www.parkandride.co.za
