Key words: trendy, colourful, form fitting, fashion-forward, funky, and sexy

So if you are asking what to wear to Jacaranda Day? What if it rains? What if it's ridiculously hot or freezing cold? There are so many things to think about when you have to look good all day. Just relax, wear what's most comfortable for you and have fun!

Tips:

If you have more than one pair of jeans to choose from, wear the one with the biggest/most pockets. Pockets are always great to have because you will be able to skip the purse, and put your phone and money in your pants.

Dress comfortably. Comfortable clothing will help when you're dancing.

Don't wear too much jewellery. It's easy to lose it.

Don't wear rompers because having to take off your entire outfit to use a porta-potty could get very uncomfortable and awkward.

Since there will be a big crowd and lots of mayhem, don't wear your favourite or most expensive pieces if you want to stay relaxed and enjoy the experience.

The venue is quite large, so you'll have to do a lot of walking. Wear comfortable shoes that won't fall apart and that will protect your feet in case someone stomps on you.

Se sure to bring a pair of leggings, a hoodie, shoes that won’t get ruined in the rain, and an anorak. That way, you’ll be covered for any sort of surprises.

Shoes:

Heels (or wedges) are a great look. But since you are going to be up and dancing, only wear heels that you are comfortable enough in that you can stand for five hours straight without needing to sit down.

Boots are a more conservative choice. These are great because they are comfortable, fashionable, and look fabulous with a pair of jeans.

Don't forsake warmth for fashion. Knee-high boots are not only warm, but very sexy on anyone. Pair them with skinny jeans and a pull-on rocker top. To look winter-chic, add a cropped leather jacket.

Open toe flats or sandals are also great if you are not a fan of shoes for too long. Play into the relaxed look (gladiator sandals, chunky heel or jeweled flip flops).

The bottom:

If you started off with heels, build off that look. Start by creating a chic-casual look with a pair of skinny jeans (colour if your heels are nude or black).

If you choose boots, work it. Try pulling the boots together with a pair of skinny jeans. For an extra burst of colour, try pairing your boots with a pair of bright or pale colored jeans.

Jean shorts and a fun tank make a great base, while a neon fanny pack and old school takkies will give you a cool retro vibe.

Your top:

If you are wearing jeans, adding a white tee is always chic - especially when they are extra loose, have detailing or ruffles, or have an interesting cut.

Get a rocker tee. Wear a tee for the band you are seeing, a dark loose fitted shirt, or a tight dark-toned crop top.

Pair a cropped top with a maxi skirt, or cut-offs with a baggy button-up.

If you decided that you want to wear a dress for a fun girls’ day out, try wearing a maxi dress. Throw on a colourful pair of heels, or sandals to add depth to your dress.

Accessorise:

Accessories are arguably the most important part of your concert ensemble. Keep jewellery (chains and bangles) chunky and earrings should be minimal.

Big floppy hats and over-sized or wafer sunglasses will help you protect yourself from the sun.
