Mbalula: Winnie Mandela will never be forgotten
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The African National Congress' (ANC) Fikile Mbalula has
lauded the role played by the late struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
Mbalula believes movies will be made and museums built in honour of the late 'mother of the nation'.
He was speaking at the Winnie Mandela Memorial Lecture in Soweto, south of Johannesburg.
The ANC’s head of elections says Madikizela-Mandela’s legacy is tied to the issues of land reform and youth unemployment.
"To forget about Winnie Mandela is to forget about land expropriation without compensation.
"The struggle continues, we are fighting for equity and equitable shares for the dispossessed."
Mbalula says the ANC has a responsibility towards black people.
"It should be a vehicle to protect our people and liberates them in the struggle for economic freedom."
